This is the spectacular moment a
high-powered motorbike and its rider hit a race track barrier,
catapulting the machine 30ft into the air and off into trees.
Rider Luke Mossey walked away unharmed after losing control of his 600cc Triumph bike, which astonishingly was not a complete write-off.
However, the £40,000 bike was badly damaged when it came to a rest 50ft down a ravine having struck trees.
The accident happened during a British Supersport Championship event at Brands Hatch.
The teenage rider, who hopes to turn professional according to his official website, recalled how he watched in horror as his bike took off.
He told Superbike Magazine: 'I slid off the bike and went into the gravel trap and the next thing I know it's taken off. 'The MoTec dash was smashed, the subframe was gone but the engine was OK.
'Luckily the forks were OK too. Look's like the tree took the impact.'
