Two years of planning and R&D and the world’s first Lotus Motorcycle is finally ready to hit the road. German racing firm Kodewa was granted the license by Group Lotus, the iconic sportscar maker, to use the Lotus name and the C-01 looks like a great intro to the Lotus Motorcycle brand. It features a modern design by Daniel Simon that features carbon fiber, titanium and aerospace quality steel. Power comes via a V-twin engine that dishes out 200 horsepower. We’re looking at the future of superbikes though that assertion can’t really be fully proven until it’s seen some road and track tests.
As it stands right now, the Lotus Motorcycles C-01 might do really well on straight aways but the design doesn’t give much room for maneuverability. It’s still great to look at, which you can do a ton of in the gallery below.
